Asip says:

minimal gore.. fast pace.. and timeline get corrupted.. i understand it is the first game.. but its lack of “hidden” and “fresh”..

bsoxfan554 says:

I would consider myself one of the more hardcore Saw fans. Loved every single movie for the intricate story that had twists we did not expect as well as the traps which were so gross yet you couldnt look away. The one thing- the major thing that I disliked from Jigsaw was the lack of returning characters.

From seeing every movie in the theaters and waiting 7 years, I would’ve loved to see Hoffman or any returning characters. I think if there’s another saw, we’ll get the twist where the sister was picked up by a returning character as we didn’t see what happened next with her; but that was by far my biggest letdown.

I liked Jigsaw and I really like your reviews—probably the best reviewers of horror movies on youtube–even when I don’t agree with the review (that’s special–to like a review even when I disagree with some of it)! Thanks

Saw 1 was still the best out of the franchise.

MrButtchuckle says:

Is this the first time they reviewed a movie that was still in theaters when the video was released?

FamousLast Panda says:

The blender trap in my opinion was cool
The rest was meh

Armin Sanjana says:

Nice review guys, I never got a chance to see the Saw franchise in theaters till now, and today I went to see Jigsaw in the theatre. I must say although I missed the old characters of Detective Hoffman and Dr.Gordon( which I am sure will make a comeback),I have to say this one also had some amazing traps, decent blood n gore, a good twist in the end and yes if you’ve seen the movie , their is some logic from the storytellers about making a new apprentice for Jigsaw which I am sure will be continued in the next installment of Jigsaw. Go for this movie , don’t read the dumb comments made here which are discouraging people to not watch the movie.

SfL says:

I completely hated the movie. What made the SAW series interesting was the clear connection between the movies, interesting characters, great gore and the mostly inscrutable twist at the end. JIGSAW in my opinion (sadly) had non of that..
Greetings from Germany, love your content keep up the good work!

BegoneThot says:

This saga is dead, how much are they gonna milk it?

Skitarii Soldier says:

This movie sucked.

Radek Rydzewski says:

Sorry, the Saw tradition didn’t continue in 2018.

Steven Guitink says:

At a guess, the steering away from hardcore gore was probably a design choice. Given that the torture porn craze has come and gone, they probably decided to tone that stuff down to appeal to a broader market. Bare in mind I know you guys don’t think the Saw films are torture porn persay, but given that they became associated with the genre, it’s a given.

Personally I don’t see this movie having much of an appeal outside of Saw film fans. It’s like with any franchise driven movie series. Typically the draw factor comes from being an invested fan in the series itself. People new to the series would more than likely come away with too many questions to get the enjoyment out of it.

Of course, I only watched the first two, so maybe I’m biased a little. lol

Sage V says:

I never actually saw Jigsaw. I’m afraid that watching it will ruin the other ones for me because it got so many bad reviews. I might have to give in and watch it. I love the Saw movies.

Brayden Dean says:

I enjoyed this movie a lot. I’m not the type who is obsessed with gore but the traps in this film weren’t boring. We all knew what was coming in them but they definatly weren’t Boeing and neither was the movie. I would give it a 4.5/5

Septien Patterson says:

If you enjoy the John Kramer mythos; you’ll like it. Maybe the hiatus made it seem fresh to me

Cierra Swaye Lyle the supernatural fan girl says:

Awesome one!❤❤❤❤

I do not like that.

Brayden Dean says:

For me, I watch saw for suspense not the Gore. Yes I love Gore in these films but this one was about suspense and I liked the traps, I give it like a 6.7/10

Haytham Wael says:

I didn’t like it that much, boring traps, no blood and what about halfman and dr Gorden what happened to them the movie didnt answer my questions, i give it 5.9/10

Poop Frogg says:

Wasn’t a fan of this movie….I love the entire franchise. Even 7 had great gore despite being a shit movie but this one….my god….I was looking at my phone through most of the 3rd act

Edgar Sanchez says:

This movie was GARBAGE

Cliff Brower says:

Just saw it, so so at best!

FeedMeMore says:

Personally, the saw movies drive me crazy because in most films the planned scenario is ridiculously convoluted yet everything goes exactly as planned for Jigsaw/Accomplices. It’s so improbable sometimes that it’s impossible. Saw III is just dumb if you actually think about it. This is why I stand by that Saw II is the best. In the sequel the plan doesn’t go perfectly. This creates tension sense unlike the other films you don’t know how or if someone is going to die. They could get killed by succumbing to the poison, get killed by their trap, someone else’s trap, or the giant mad man. And (spoiler alert) while it’s no surprise the kid survives, it is surprising that Shawnee Smith survives. Usually repeat victims in a horror franchise usually means instant death. I was sure Shawnee Smith would be killed to prove that everyone really is vulnerable. Jigsaw, the movie not the person, might be one of my favorites just because it has that same feel. Once the game begins and the five people are on their own it becomes somewhat out of the hands of the killer. I think that is a lot more exciting then just putting a person in an elaborate trap and already knowing they are toast. Also the first two Saws are not that gory. The franchise just went downhill after that, with exception of the V? (The one about healthcare insurance). And to make fans happy over the story suffering they just added more gore. I think this film deserves more credit then it got. It DID get bad reviews but so did EVERY Saw film. This lands in the middle of the pack for the critics on Rotten Tomatoes and is highest in the audience score. The short and the sweet is that this was pretty successful with audiences. That’s really hard to do when rebooting a franchise much less a horror one. For the most part I like the review I just thought this point needed to be thrown in. Love the channel guys, keep up the good work. (I should add that I do love all the gory traps even in Saw III, I just don’t think tons of gore is necessary for a Saw film, that sounds stupid, but go back and watch the first two the gore is not that much, but yes I will admit that it would be better if they raised the probability of the scenarios WHILE presenting as many effed up traps as possible.)

本田盾子 says:

Can you review American Horror Story? :3 like, every season.

The Horror Miser Monty G says:

Well, I like the traps and the practical effects. I didnt like any of the characters and there was nobody to root for. I also saw the twist coming a mile away.

Tube City says:

can you review Jeepers Creepers 3?

Horrorboy465 says:

great review!

TheHitherto says:

I got to the third of these movies before I gave up. By then its main message seemed to have become; “People simply suck, and it’s okay to let them be tortured to death!”

Asip says:

true in storyline.. this is the first ”cage game”.. that give insight where he found his victim.. more closely ”related”.. and what ”primitive” trap was used.. traps are boring.. the biggest flaw is the how he be sure that Anna and Mitch will survive grain silo trap.. all tools are drop randomly.. and Mitch will play spiral trap.. or if they all die.. yeh.. just let them dry..
GAME OVER!.. haha
personally i like enjoyed but not satisfied.. and we get reverse bear origin.. haha!

Nesalze Demonicas says:

Ryan’s character was way too funny for me to feel terror. The major mistake was keeping him alive through out the film. Although Ryan was by far the least guilty. The actor portrayed Ryan way too humorously.

Klynnx3 says:

I’m going see it tomorrow night so we will see. I’ve only seen saw 1 through 5 I didn’t even know that they had 7 of them =/

Cave Lombax says:

This is the best Saw movie since Saw 2 IMO

Marky pop says:

i love the franchise and seen all the films and the twist did shock me, i probably liked this more then saw 4-6

Kenneth Miller says:

Accurate review. I noticed they re-used elements from each of the previous movies. I don’t want to spoil anything but if u saw the other movies you’ll notice.

Mogens Schmidt says:

Can you guys do The maniac cop movies?

Hellhound382 says:

Third one was my personal favorite. Like the first three were good. Honestly i think they shouldve ended it there and been done with it. However i am kinda curious about this one. When i get paid next i might go see it

Leona Luna says:

I wasn’t a fan of any of the characters, I felt like the movie was really comical and I couldn’t take anyone seriously.

Cliff Brower says:

The traps were lame, the coroner chic was sexy !

EllDudeRocks says:

I was so let down by this movie, the worst in then franchise in my opinion

dajerk70 says:

Jigsaw means nothing to me now. We should have gotten a new Friday the 13th. Jason rules jigsaw drools.

i was let down by this film

Cierra Swaye Lyle the supernatural fan girl says:

Can you do cult of Chucky please?❤❤❤

shawn1428 says:

The original Saw was such a refreshing surprise, the second movie was also solid, the early demise of John Kramer in SAW 3 was a bummer, especially seeing all the movies that came after it with wannabe apprentices, the only thing that kept me interested later into the movies was Jill Tuck; played by Betsy Russell, She meets her demise at the end of SAW 3D (Saw 7). AMy first question is; what happened to Dr.Gordon played by Saw original Cary Elwes?? He ended up killing Detective Mark Hoffman played by Costas Mandylor after he killed Jigsaw’s wife; Jill Tuck at the end of Saw 3D, nothing is mentioned about any of this. Jigsaw was uninteresting and toned down compared to most past movies.

Bowlcut Zever says:

I’ve waiting for this movie for years.
I once watched the first 4 at once starting at midnight.
I love the movie series and I always will.

Random Horror says:

So it’s all been building up to this great with you guys I will be checking this out as well this week and will be putting it in a series I’m doing for November called Saw Week.

Michael Dunn says:

I never got the chance to see a Saw movie in the theaters, so I jumped at the first chance to catch this, and I enjoyed it. Granted, I’ve only seen 1-4, so maybe I’m still sort of fresh to this series, but I’m glad I saw it (even though I didn’t quite get that audience experience I wanted since I saw it with maybe 4 other people in the theater and they were very quiet). Throw in a cute as hell redhead as an added bonus to a franchise I like, and it’s a solid 3.5 out of 5 for me.

Dracøhuffelclaw P!atd says:

What was your favorite trap

lara brofth says:

I give 3.9 because of the wnding

Yazi says:

dr Gordon should have been the next jigsaw
